One day TV AND FILM AUDITION “brushup” with Matt Newton
Taught by Matt Newton. Actors must be represented by an agent or manager and actively auditioning to be considered. This one day on-camera “real world” audition workshop is for serious, professional, young actors who want to brush up their audition skills for pilot season. Not for the thin skinned, this is an honest, practical, shoot from the hip workshop that will help actors step up their game and bring their audition skills to a higher level. Limited to 10 actors, student will be assigned a script two days before, prepare as if this were an actual pilot audition, and Matt will coach them on making strong choices in the audition room. Actors will learn how to memorize quickly, “drop in” to the character’s emotional intensity, be real, natural and connected, make strong choices, and will be coached on how to bring their authentic personality to the script when self taping or reading in front of casting directors. This is for advanced actors who can handle more difficult scripts. No excuses. All students receive a video of their work after class, as well as an individual critique.
