Weekend ON CAMERA INTENSIVE with Matt Newton

This is a hardcore, two day, honest, practical, and very challenging tv and film intensive for 10 selected students (over 18), that will cover everything from auditioning to working on set.     Intense scenes will be assigned two days before the intensive (from current TV shows), and Matt will work closely with each actor to bring honesty and truth to their work, with a focus on what is expected at the highest professional level in the audition all the way through working on set.   Students will be exposed to every part of the tv and film process, including cold-reading, auditioning for comedy, drama, chemistry reads, and will ultimately bring those scenes to "set" and work with marks, partners, being directed on the fly, and working with different camera angles.  All scenes will be coached and filmed.  Actors will learn to bring authenticity to their work with little prep time, and will leave this intensive with a comprehensive understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, as well as a strong awareness of their type, range, and place in the LA market.   After the workshop, Matt will email the video of the work to the students, along with individual critique and feedback.  To be considered, please email a pic, res, agent info, and recent self tape to info@mnactingstudio.com.

Saturday, March 17th 11-3:30pm (Audition Day)

Sunday, March 18th 11-3:30pm (On Set Day)

Price:  $349 for the weekend ($325 early bird before Feb. 15th)

4 week "ADVANCED AUDITION BOOTCAMP" with Paul Urcioli (and special guest Matt Newton)

Our advanced Los Angeles TV audition class for professional actors with tv and film representation, who are actively auditioning for network TV.    This is a real world, challenging, mock audition "gym"  that is tailored to the strengths and weaknesses of each actor, with a focus on booking the job and knowing your place in the market. Prepared scenes are sent one day before, and are meant to push the actors outside of their comfort zone.   The focus is on guest star and series regular roles, or actors can bring in their own audition scripts.   Actors will act as readers for each other, and Paul will coach each actor on bringing the script to life, digging deeper into the work, and putting their authentic stamp on the script, making strong choices with little preparation time.   All students work each week, and receive a video of their work.  Limited to 10 serious actors.     This is an ongoing class, offered every month.  MN studio owner and acclaimed acting coach Matt Newton will attend the last class to discuss the business, as well as help critique and coach scenes.
