To apply for adult classes, please schedule an audition with Matt Newton here. With the exception of the adult Beginner On Camera class, all new students MUST audition for class placement. Matt offers these once a month. For youth actors, instead of an audition, you must submit headshot, resume, agency rep to email@example.com for consideration. MN Acting Studio reserves the right to accept or deny admission and does not offer class audits for prospective students.
We recommend all students purchase Matt's book "10 Steps to Breaking into Acting." You can purchase PDF version here.
It is the actor’s responsibility to commit to the class for which they have enrolled to ensure our small class size. Any requests to withdraw enrollment need to be made in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org two weeks prior to class start date. If under two weeks, student will receive credit to be used towards a future class within the calendar year. After the end of the year the credit is forfeited. If a student withdraws within 48 hours of the start of a class, all credit forfeited, unless we are able to give the spot to another student. No exceptions.
The studio does not pro-rate or refund for any missed classes.
For ongoing courses, payment is due in full upon reservation. If you are currently enrolled in an ongoing class and want to continue registration for the following upcoming session, you must pay in full by the fourth class of your current session to secure your spot. After the fourth session of each ongoing class, space is made available to those on the wait list for the next round.
If you will be late or absent from class, it is your responsibility to email to notify us in advance. Professional courtesy is expected. We don't offer makeup classes. If you miss a class, you will not be pro-rated for the missed class. As a courtesy, we recommend the actor self tape their scene from the missed class and send to the teacher for written feedback.
To sign up for the waitlist for a class, you MUST have auditioned for and been accepted by Matt. Current students get first dibs on holding their spot for the next round. If a spot opens up, we will notify the waitlist at a certain date and time, and the open spots will be first come, first serve via a signup link. If you are unable to get in, you must sign up for next month's waitlist again.
Each teacher reserves the right to use a hold date to makeup a class. All students are expected to make themselves available for this date when signing up for a class.
Please leave the studio in the same or better condition than when you arrived. You are responsible to dispose of your own trash, etc.
We do not permit any tape recording or video recording in class. If we have found that you have uploaded any video or audio from class to the Internet, you will be required to remove it immediately.
Teacher assignments to classes and class schedules are subject to change.
MN Acting Studio reserves the right to accept or deny admission to classes at the studio.
We don't offer referrals to agents or managers.
