6 Week On-Camera Intensive with Paul Urcioli

Must be accepted by audition or referral only. Must have headshot, resume, and basic training to attend. This special 6-week, ongoing camera class will focus on helping actors work with scripts to create emotional truth on camera, while also helping them understand the business of acting. The purpose of this class is to reinforce the essential skills and techniques that actors must master in order to enter the medium of film and tv, in a safe, non-judgmental environment, and to give them the basic building blocks to create a strong character within a dynamic on-camera scene.  All students work on-camera each week, working with exercises and texts with different camera shot setups, with a focus on subtlety and honesty. Students will learn to not "act," but rather to simply talk and listen in the moment, and find emotional truth and spontaneity in their work while the camera is on them. Students will also learn to overcome their nerves in order to maximize relaxation and concentration, all for the purpose of committing to the circumstances and bring the character to life on-camera. This class will be limited to 10 students, and all students will receive a video of their work each week, including material appropriate to be uploaded to online profiles or to be edited into a demo reel.

Who should take this class?

Students in this class should have strong basic training and a headshot/resume. While this may be your first on-camera class, this should not be your first acting class, and as you'll be given material to be presented online you must be at a place where you feel comfortable doing so. This class will help you begin to create your demo reel.
